I am Stephanie Lowen a Self Management specialist who has worked in the NHS for 15 years, I have successfully implemented and established a Self Management Service in Leeds. This has raised national interest enabling me to support wider NHS organisations begin their Self Management journey.
With 9 years experience embedding this model I have been able to create a training package to ensure we do this safely, keeping the individual at the centre of every decision. I am currently lecturing at Leeds University and hoping this becomes 'business as usual'.
By using Self Management techniques safely we can impact patient flow, capacity, cost savings but most importantly the quality of care we deliver to individuals.
I am passionate to make a change to our NHS and believe this could be pioneering and finally a sustainable approach to some of our main concerns.
I have a clinical and behavioural background which has supported my vision with Self Management and have many years of experience of putting this 'term' into practice, making sure this is no longer a term but a model that makes a difference.
